Born February 1, 1976 in Listowel,
Ontario, Heidi grew up exposed to the music of Yes,
Chicago, Jethro Tull, Moody Blues, Pink Floyd to
Beethoven, Bach and Mozart.
Heidi began taking
piano lessons from the age of eight continued throughout
her childhood. She also studied music composition.
At age 13, Heidi
discovered the music of Led Zeppelin, the Rolling
Stones, Guns n' Roses, The Black Crows, and later on
Metallica, The Cult, David Bowie, Heart, Crosby, Stills and
Nash. She still enjoys listening to all these
artists today.
Heidi didn't pick up
the bass until her late 20s.
Blind Spot
had three bass players prior to Heidi joining the
band in late 2006. She only knew a few blues patterns
and some scales at this time. She only had six
weeks to learn 40 songs for the gig that was booked for
New Years Eve.
She was the missing link. After only
a couple of months with Blind Spot the original music
began to flow. |
